Arches Overnight Trip
Gold Beach to Whaleshead State Park is an amazing 22 mile paddle in the heart of the Banana Belt Coast of southern Oregon. This picture is your first nights camping site on the beach at Crook Point National Wildlife Refuge which is part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife refuge system. Mack Reef, adjacent to Crook Point, is one of the least spoiled archipelagos on the west coast and sits right offshore of the wildlife refuge. A beach that sees little to no traffic due to the inaccessibility of the refuge, the amazing fishing opportunity and the wildlife hotspot of Mack Reef and Crook Point offer an evening to remember. We will eat fresh seafood caught in the area and sleep on one of the most amazing beach locales in the world. Fish loving foodies will really appreciate this!
There are many bird colonies at Crook Point and Mack Reef including a Leeches Storm Petrel colony that can offer amazing late night bird calls when it is clear skies. The second day involves some of the most amazing paddling in the world through the Arches Territory adjacent to Samuel Boardman State Scenic Corridor. Call for scheduling these rare and amazing excursions.
This paddle only occurs on the nicest days of the year so consider emailing us to get on our Weather Alert list to learn of stellar looking ocean conditions in the forecast.
