Kayak Fishing with South Coast Tours

Join us for outstanding fishing on the Southern Oregon Coast. We provide the kayak, gear, and guides on all of our fishing trips in Brooking and the Port Orford area.

Common fish caught in the area include: Rockfish, Ling Cod, Cabezon, Kelp Greeling, and more.

Brookings Ocean Kayak Fishing Tour

The fishing can be good and so can the crabbing. At the southern range of SCT offerings a lucky fishermen can sometimes catch fish that are usually only landed in California and some large Ling Cod have been taken inside the Point. The boat basin offers calm waters where you can view the many different commercial fishing boats and pleasure craft moored up to the docks. With easy access to the ocean via the Wild and Scenic Chetco river mouth, Brookings offers a variety of experiences ranging from frequent Pelican sitings to neat coves and a wide range of ocean plant life at Chetco Point. We will be wearing wetsuits on this tour. If you are into fly fishing we have two saltwater set ups great for our waters.

Port Orford Ocean Kayak Fishing Tour

There are multiple species of fish like Blue and Black rockfish, Ling Cod, Cabezon and Kelp Greenling. There are also many birds and marine mammals to see if the wife or kids do not want to fish. Some of the birds to see are Cormorants, Black Oyster Catchers, Common Murre, Pigeon Guillemots and lots of seasonal birds. It’s not uncommon to see Gray Whales from late winter through to the fall migration. Large, beautiful headland protected by Oregon State Parks full of secret coves, a cultural site, kelp beds, Aquarium Arch paddle through, working fishing port of Port Orford, access to and views of Redfish Rocks Marine Research Reserve and Humbug Mountatin. We’ll be wearing wetsuits on this tour. Fly fishing also available.
