Rogue Reef
Let South Coast Tours take you on an adventure paddle in the Wild Rivers Coast estuaries and out into the Southern Oregon near shore ocean. Go fishing, wildlife viewing or just simply enjoy the experience of gliding across the waterways of the banana belt coast of Oregon. The south coast holds much of Oregon's near shore reefs and some of the best fishing, photography, wildlife viewing and wildest rivers on the west coast.
South Coast Tours offers fully equipped 2.5 hour and 4 hour 2-6 person trips in both freshwater and in the Pacific ocean when nature allows. SCT has 4 singles and 1 tandem boat. There are many lakes and rivers to choose from on the Wild Rivers Coast from Floras Lake near Port Orford to the Rogue River in Gold Beach and down to the beautiful Chetco river near the California border. Come paddle out to Oregon's first marine reserve and protected area at Redfish Rocks Marine Research Reserve and Protected Area near Humbug Mountain just south of Port Orford.
Redfish Rocks is also a designated IBA (Important Bird Area). There are 9 IBAs on the south coast of Oregon and many of them are best viewed by Kayaks as they are less disturbing than larger powered vessels. Paddling the kelp forests of the southern Oregon coast is a surreal experience not to be missed.
We also do tours in the Bandon and Coos Bay region. The mighty Coos Bay estuary has a ton of paddling opportunities including the nations first National Estuarine Research Reserve in the South Slough of Coos Bay. There are also some beautiful coves and rocky headlands at Cape Arago near Charleston, just south of Coos Bay. *There is an added $25 diesel fee for Bandon and $50 diesel fee for Coos Bay area trips.
